Aley at a Glance
Aley sits on Mount Lebanon, uphill from Beirut, in the Mount Lebanon Governorate.
Things the town is known for:
- Its summer resort past. Aley became a popular place to spend the summer months after the railway opened, and it is still nicknamed the "Bride of the Summer resorts".
- Souk Aley, a long historic boulevard lined with palm trees, with antique shops and boutiques. It is the heart of the town.
- A well-known casino, part of its resort history.
Because of its resort history, Aley can feel busier in summer. Visit a property in more than one season if you can.

Renting in Aley: What to Check
Contract length
Some Aley rentals on DoorEast are marked "Yearly Contract". Confirm the lease length, the payment schedule and whether the rent changes in summer before you visit.
Heating and winter costs
Aley is a mountain town, so ask how the apartment is heated and what that costs in winter. Large apartments can be expensive to heat. Ask the current or previous tenant if you can.
What the rent includes
Ask who pays building fees, generator subscription, water and internet. Two apartments with the same rent can end up costing very different amounts.
Access and parking
Check the road to the building in different weather, and whether there is a parking spot. Drive the route to work or school at the time you would normally travel.
